"WHY NOT CONSIDER BOTH CONFERENCES GO D-II THEN!"

"OK!" ...

Since there appears to be some minor logistical challenges to the previous Question of splitting into 2 Conferences ...

"How Would You All Feel About BOTH The MEAC & SWAC Simply Becoming D-II Conferences?"

Honestly ...

What would ANY of us miss out on by moving to the Division that for the most part all of us have indicated by our levels of collective $upport that we would be comfortable at?

"If You STAY Ready ... You Ain't Got To GET Ready!"

And ... "You Are What You NEGOTIATE!"

So ...

"PIMP ... Or BE Pimped!"

Might as well. Mostly all schools would be competitive especially in football. Division 2 only requires you to have 36 scholarships. The MEAC and SWAC are slowly backing away from FCS competition and might as well say the MEAC is giving up on the playoffs. All of our schools need to find out what is beneficial to them as of now and in the long run. If you can't afford to compete, don't put your institution in a financial hole by trying to do so. We all know that our overall fans don't travel that well so why not schedule local/state matchups against other HBCUs that'll bring money in. Example(Division 1 vs Division 2) in state teams.

You have schools that will still do the bare minimum.  They would still not do what is necessary to be competitive.

You would not be the bell of the ball. The CIAA would still come through WSSU or SCSU.  An a&t move to the CIAA  would keep them from running from a sure asss whoppin by WSSU.

On the national level in D2, an expanded CIAA would still be a collection of nobodies. There are many D2 schools that would beat the breaks of us.
