Fort Valley State University to have Visitation Day
« on: March 05, 2015, 01:54:34 PM »
The south Georgia schools of Colquitt, Brooks, Lowndes, Valdosta and Cook will be sending busloads of high school juniors and seniors to the campus of The Fort Valley State University for visitation day on Saturday, March 21st. This is a special day set aside for this visitation purpose. We could not charter any buses for March 28th because the bus companies in the area are all booked up for the spring break period, which commences on March 28. And we didn't want to miss the opportunity to bus some talented students to our campus and expose them to the many wonderful programs that we have to offer.

Hey Yogi, forty-three students from south Georgia made the trip up today and everything is going well. Will fill in the details later.

That's great to hear

I've signed my niece up for the Preview Day on the 28th.   She wants to go to CAU or Kennesaw State, but I'm pushing FV and so are her parents since they're both graduates.  I think the fact that half of her family went to FV isn't a selling point right now (she thrives in being "different"), but she has applied and plans to be there Saturday, so I'm still praying.

With all the divisive rhetoric on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, websites such as ours, especially message boards, are under the watchful eye of the Internet giants. And those giants are coming down hard on sites like this one due to the perception of the need for better "oversight".

We recognize the cultural conflict that exists and over the past few months we've been accused of allowing content in posts/threads that supposedly violates some advertiser's policies. Those threads weren’t an issue in the past, but for some reason, they are an issue now. And we are being penalized (financially) because of it.

As a result we are coming to you directly for your financial support>
