???.........I don't have a CLUE as to who this guy is other than what appears in media reports.

I'll wait for some of the FAMU peeps WITH KNOWLEDGE to break this hiring down for me.   Thanks.

I remember when he was at JMU.  JMU had a black head football and basketball coach at that time.

Wasn't he a finalist for another HBCU HFC role?   I recall him being apart of another thread discussion. Just can't remember which school.

...........this is an aside to the main topic, but I have been on the James Madison campus.  And, I gotta give them their props, it is one of the most beautiful and picturesque schools I have ever seen.

Interesting.......who is this guy?

A guy that isnt well though of by the people of JMU.He took over a team that won the A-10 and 10 games (1-1 in the playoffs) and won 8 (0-1 in the playoffs), 7, 5, and then 3 games. The very next season, he was replaced, and the new coach with the same talent won 8 games and won the A-10. Seems like the JMU faithful blames him for running the program into the ground. Good luck FAMU :tiptoe:

Sherman Dillard for one year. Dillard's first year was his last year the other years Lefty Drisell  was the coach.

If you want only focus on the negative, have at it. He was Erickson's OC at UM when they went undeated and won a national championship. Coached and developed Culpepper and Cunningham on the pro level. I'm not disappointed in the hire. We could do worst....

I'd call this an average selection. He has a great track record as an assistant but no sustained success as a head coach. FAMU could have done worse but I also believe they could have done better.

Just curious who would you have selected ?
