Back to the OP. I was asking about Alcorn last week because they were getting a lot of love. I don't care if Southern Miss. is good or not, they have more scholarships and they are an FBS program. That was an impressive showing. This is good for the SWAC. I'm not sure who the best HBCU team is but it's a good thing that we can actually have this debate.

Why not FAMU since it took a miracle for JSU to beat them?

No Shade... But Jackson St. as a Top 5 team.....

You barely beat FAMU on a Hail Mary
and you beat VUL.... which was expected due to their much lower class....

Playing against TSU will be your test.. then we shall talk...

The best thing about my Aggies? We have 18 starters returning next season!   ;D

I thought we were playing the 2014 season? If those 18 returning starters turn out to be sorry this year, then It won't matter how many of them return. You had better be worried about how many starters return for Hampton and NC Central next year. They are the future of MEAC football.

My point was that we are probably a year away from hitting our stride. Of course after watching the first two games we may become a contender this season. Also, make no mistake we are definitely the future of the MEAC along with anyone else you want to name.

Decks I agree. Not only do the Aggies have 18 starters back next year, they have those same kids for the next couple of years since most are red shirt frosh and sophomores. You know Broadway will continue to bring in good talent so things will only get better for the Aggies. I believe you will see an improved MEAC in general over the next couple of years.

Top 5 right now would have to be Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina A&T, Bama State, Alcorn State, and WSSU in no particular order.

3 SWAC teams?

Given Bama State's dominating performance over Tennessee State yesterday, I think this list is fairly accurate.

Truth be told, Alcorn was probably the best team in BCF last year, too.

The fact that Alabama State got beat 51-20 by Sam Houston State and then Sam Houston State got beat 47-7 makes me leary of thinking they are a quality team.

If your school ever had the nation's longest losing streak, you can't be considered a football power.

Alcorn has gotton better each year under Coach Hobson. I think after he put all the pieces he needs together, they will rule the SWAC with an iron fist, if not already.
You do realize that no one really cares what you think.  You tirades have caused you OP's to be meaningless.

Speak for yourself bird man. Each persons posts should be viewed as individualize posts, not collectively as you state. Having an open mind is one of the benefits to being educated... right. So, his posts are just as good as any and should viewed as such. All you is doing is bullying this person by acting like the whole forum is on your side. And besides, his so called rants, relates to a school and person you have no dealings with, so why should it matter to you?

True. I honestly think Bama State had a bad performance that game. They are awesome on both sides of the ball this year.

Now that we're in week 6, I would replace JSU with Tennessee State.

Sam Houston State beat Bama State at 100%. Since that time they've lost several key starters including QB to season-ending injuries.
