IMO, the best team in Black College Football...
« on: September 07, 2014, 05:08:16 PM »
....are the Braves of Alcorn State University.  They looked damn good yesterday in their 26-20 loss to Southern Miss.

1. Alcorn State
2. North Carolina A&T
3. Bethune-Cookman
4. Jackson State
5. Alabama State

3 SWAC teams?

Given Bama State's dominating performance over Tennessee State yesterday, I think this list is fairly accurate.

Truth be told, Alcorn was probably the best team in BCF last year, too.

Im assuming this is a FCS Poll. Now you don't have to like me but  there are clearly not 5 HBCU teams better than WSSU. As of matter of fact WSSU has better talent than all of those teams!

WSSU has a ACC QB\FCS Transfer QB
FBS RB transfer
5-7 FBS WR transfers
10+ FBS Defenseive tranfers

Like get over dislike for me and be rational! WSSU is D2 but has FCS\FBS talent.

Honestly, the SWAC does look like the teams at the top have gotten better. Alcorn State, Alabama State and JSU look like solid FCS teams and Texas Southern looks like its starting to develop.

You do realize FCS teams have FBS transfers, too right?

I'd say NCAT. They were impressive in their opener, and they darn near beat the No.5 ranked team in the country.

While Alcorn hanging in there against USM was solid, USM isn't very good.

This indeed going to be a very interesting season
(prays somehow a non-SWAC Championship team gets an at-large)

I thought we were playing the 2014 season? If those 18 returning starters turn out to be sorry this year, then It won't matter how many of them return. You had better be worried about how many starters return for Hampton and NC Central next year. They are the future of MEAC football.

While we appreciate the confidence, there is a whole lot of 'present' left to go.   We need some run stuffers to step up or some of the MEAC teams are going to make our lives very difficult.

TP, don't explain anything to GUR. Obviously, Stevie Wonder can see those are FCS schools listed. Why even try to add WSSU to the mix is beyond me,,,,,,,,

It's not that I am a Central fan, but the fact that you guys hired a good coach. He has little to work with this year, but I am sure he will fix that in a few years. Just mark my words, it will be Central and Hampton (you can't ever leave out SCSU) battling for the MEAC title. But WSSU will still be the best.
