Central State -28
FINAL

I was at the game...

Man, it is tough to watch our offense. I am not a fan of the scheme.  Not sexy at all...and I would be ok with that if it was effective. Good to see Coach Tweet making it to the games. Our D seems a little small without an enforcer. Some guys made plays. Our DBS are small. Big receivers will be an issue.

As for Central State...they were very big. O-line is huge. RBs run hard, and with mean intentions. They will have some success this year...and as the momentum builds, they will get more talent...and it could be trouble for the SIAC because there ain't no comp for real D-II talent here in Ohio. Most of the the solid D-II talent here had been falling to D-III wch is why all of the top teams are from Ohio. Anyway...

Their band did a nice job.
Don't you think that's some information I'd like to know?  I like Tacos . . .

Gram 93 -

What are the pink toed fans from Pembroke saying?  WSSU is putting it on em.

LOL I was sitting on their side, and you could have heard a pin drop when Rasberry threw that wide receiver TD pass. And a few Rams students was eating em up. LOL

S/O to them Rams with that impressive 38-7 win

I was at the game and it was a nice crowd, until the storm came through at halftime. But I did stay until the end.....wet clothes and all. But as far as the game, if not for the self-inflected mistakes by WSSU, the score should have been a lot worse. But that returner for UNC-P is the real deal. Rudy Johnson seems more comfortable in the offense than Sims, but then again the Rams receivers drops some nice passes thrown by Sims. And Mr. Redemption himself, Deshea Townsend, turned from QB to tight end, caught aThe defense is solid and will only get better. UNC-P only has 146 yards of total offense (99 yards passing and 47 yards rushing) and NO offensive scores. Yikes! #77 for UNC-P will be seeing #40 Bloomburg in his sleep, because he was getting beat all night. LOL. But with all the mistakes tonight, this team could be very dangerous when the tweaks are made.

ST ANSELM - 23
BOWIE STATE - 22

HOLY CROSS - 29
MORGAN STATE - 26

A DISMAL DAY FOR BOTH OF MY ALMA MATERS!

Dude, if Morgan doesn't beat us by at least 24, I would be somewhat shocked.MSU should be 2-0 right now. They looked pretty good against Eastern Michigan last week. One of my frat bros noted that it seems like no matter what is going on with the two squads when they play each other, that Bowie normally plays with a lot of pride and they really go hard against the Bears. Well, they are REALLY GONNA NEED THAT TO HAPPEN  this time around. OR ELSE.. :dedhorse: :dedhorse:

Anyway, I am going to try to stop short of clubbing our kids upside the head over their performance yesterday. But I think I saw enough of the game between running back and forth between tailgating and watching from the North end zone.

We aren't terrible, but once again, we're not very good. We have some athletes, #8 Nyme Manns our wide out is a beast, as is our tight end (Khary Lee #86). That is,whenever they can get the ball where it is needed to be put. I'll just leave that right there (we have a new transfer QB, I think he needs to get some cobwebs out, he did show some flashes however..) Our RB's (Keith Brown and Kendall Jefferson) were decent.

Defensively, we are so-so, but we are missing that nastiness that we used to have historically. Apparently, we lost our stud underclassman LB over some political and undisciplined BS (meaning both player and admin were at fault, go figure), so some of that intimidation factor is gone there. Oh, did I also mention that I heard he now has a full ride to Shepherd Univ.?? :brickwall: :brickwall:.. We got beat by some precise route running by a St. Anselm's wide out or two, and they had an RB (a Holy Cross transfer) who was nice. Not to mention their lil try-hard lefty QB beat us with his lil legs once or twice.

But the coup de grace, the SPECIAL TEAMS. :brickwall:.. We missed two extra point kicks (our kicker has a strong leg and can kick the ball a ton, but it is like a SCUD missle, you just don't know where it's going)... And I was not impressed with the "rugby style" punting either....

All in all, as we are prone to do each year, this was one of those games that happen 2 or 3 times a season with us, where we snatch defeat out of the hands of victory  :: :-X  A 22-7 late 3rd quarter lead at home should be more than enough to hold onto.

I am predicting 4-6, maybe 5-5 again   :(, and as usual,  I will be pumped for basketball season!!  :nod:But I'll be doggone if I won't be having a great time tailgating etc. for the other 3 home games!!
