HOF: Is it me or was Michael Strahan...
« on: August 03, 2014, 10:01:41 AM »
speech spoke nothing of Texas Southern, but more on the New York Giants. It seemed to me that he disassociated himself about his opportunity to play at Texas Southern unlike Aeanas Williams and Claude Humphrey. Both spoke highly of their HBCU experience especially Aeanas. I was in awe how Claude spoke about John Merritt. I even like Ray Guy coming from Georgia.

that's all...

“The improbable happened,” he said. “I got a scholarship from Texas Southern University.”

“It was perfect for me. I didn’t get swallowed up,” Strahan continued. “I had coaches who loved me and cared about me. The thing I learned the most at Texas Southern is that I had to grow up.”

Devin, I know what he said. I watched the entire HOF. It was very short and to the point.  I am sorry, but his speech didn't come off as genuine to me. It was more television talk to me. I thought somebody else was the one that donated the funds for the "Ocean of Soul". Didn't somebody post that article months ago about that?

Shaking My Head!

TSU graduates alumni chapters donated over $25,000

Kevin Hart donated $50,000

Michael Strahan donated $100,000 (put it over the $150,000 goal)

For a donations campaign for the band to make the trip.

Tom Joyner campaign was for his usual HBCU (Texas Southern University - June) of the Month scholarship program.

He openly celebrated his Texas Southern University experience with a very large audience on his morning talk show, including having them film his trip back for a graduation ceremony as honorary graduate and guest speaker.

I guess for some, it is not enough.
