THE Chairman of the Board
« on: June 08, 2014, 05:38:15 PM »
If this dude is not one of the BADDEST vocalists of the 20th century, then I don't know who is.  Dude is so bad that he has his own satellite radio program EXCLUSIVELY devoted to his music and music of similar artists, Siriusly Sinatra.

Ole Blue Eyes REALLY IS The Boss!!!!   ;D

He was an amazing talent even with his penchant for cigarettes.

...........yeah, dude was so smooth and cool, lighting that cigarette up, then belting out that tune like it was nothing.

Man, I am a HUGE Sinatra fan, listening to Siriusly Sinatra on satellite radio right now as I post.  His voice and vocal stylings are AGELESS!!!

.............y^^^^^^^, My Way and NY, NY are absolute CLASSICS.  Man, I gotta tell ya, a brutha damn near got teary eyed listening to the video you linked of Frank singing My Way.  That song has been covered by DOZENS of artists, and among those, interestingly enough, ole Elvis Presley does a DAMN good job.

But it IS the Chairman's song.  And he sanged it like no one else.

Man, I THOUGHT there might be some other Sinatra fans on this board.

His style, along with Tony Bennett, Lou Rawls, Johnny Hartman and Billy Eckstine, is long gone...

:(.........yeah, a "style" likely to never return.  The younger generation has to be content, for example, with the likes of TI and LL Cool J rapping "Music Man" like they did last nite at the Tony Awards.

God help us.  :(

..........one of my favorites^^^^ as well, bruh.  But dude's discography is so VAST and DEEP that I dont know if I'll EVER hear all of the stuff the Chairman recorded.

Btw, Sinatra was a supporter of civil rights in this country, and quietly donated alot of money for the cause.  He stuck up for Sammy Davis, Jr., when Davis was a part of the The Rat Pack and being treated like dirt when they performed at various venues in this country.

In the mid to late 80s I went to the Army Soldier Show at Fort Bragg.  A young soldier did My Way in Elvis' style.  That young man, wearing Class A, sang the hell out of that song.  He stood at attention and sang that song.
