« on: April 06, 2014, 09:28:15 PM »
A special shout out to the UCONN Huskies for reaching the championship game. Also
extending a special congratulations to Coach Kevin Ollie in only his second year and first
year of eligibility to reach the final. .

In addition, a salute to the UConn women Huskies for reaching the Championship game. The only school
in the history of basketball where the men and women reached the NCAA Division 1 Championship Game
not only once but twice.

What's the local take on Muffy McBride and the ND Lady Irish going ham on Geno and the Lady Huskies during recent press conferences?

'87 Alum there is definite no love between the two. Geno is aware Muffy is capable of beating the Lady Huskies....however the Huskie nation is so "pumped" right now they may be unstoppable. The press is trying not to be bias...but can tell lending towards UCONN.

Lew:

I was pumped and elated with the UCONN men winning the "Ship".  I looking forward to the women completing the task again.  The only program that has won both the men's and women's program in the same season and poised to do it again.

It bothers me that some basketball programs get all the pub based on their "quote" reputation.  Kentucky's pedigree and bloodlines, Notre Dame being Notre Dame and some other programs based on history, entitlement and rep.

There is no denying UCONN's success and it was done very quickly, yet the Huskies specifically the men rarely get's the recognition that Kentucky, Indiana, Kansas, Duke and North Carolina receives.  I happy for Kevin Ollie, his staff and players on their accomplishment this season.

Go Huskies!

Man did Geno have the Lady Huskies ready to whip the dog snot out of Notre Dame last night.  Very classy the way he handled everything despite all the crap that Muffet and company were kicking around leading into the game.  Further evidence that talk is cheap.....
