I really like Jones but where would he go?

He played 2 yrs at a juco, medical redshirt at WSSU and played 1 yr.

He only has 1 yr left to play.

As long as Nate Long and Terrell Leach stay, we'll be fine.

My best guess would be he's following  Collins to UMES. Looking at the UMES current roster, Jones  would have no problem making the starting roster.

He'd have to sit out a year and he already had a redshirt at WSSU.

If he already graduated he could get a waiver to play from the NCAA

I don't know--some kids are on some type of "I'm going pro" pipe dream. This kid should get his degree and contribute to society. If he was "All Pro" blue chip he would not have been at WSSU and a JUCO before then  My question is: Is this kid (grown man) ready to find work and have a career. I can't count the number of times I've seen kids go elsewhere thinking the grass is greener and then flunk out of school. I do hope this young man stays focused on why he is in school in the first place  :tiptoe:

http://www.hbcugameday.com/2014/04/wssus-leading-scorer-says-hes-leaving.html

I just read the Jone's kid Tweet-- "I have to do what is best for my family"... So, apparently this kid thinks that because he averaged 20 points a game in one year of playing in the CIAA he is a candidate to go pro. Even if he was noticed  by a foreign team overseas there is no guarantee he could make enough money to support his family  The best guarantee he has is to stay put and get his degree. Also, if this kid went Juco out of high school for poor academic performance and then red-shirted at WSSU for poor academics, can he even get in school at UMES? Seems like to me the best thing Bobby Collins could do is talk some sense to this kid. One thing I rember about the old school basketball coaches in the CIAA they stressed school/graduation first then basketball.

Darn Pirate 12, you are almost a smart person...almost. Just when I wanted to talk smack to you, you come up with this. At one point I was thinking that all the smart people on this forum came from WSSU.

With all the divisive rhetoric on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, websites such as ours, especially message boards, are under the watchful eye of the Internet giants. And those giants are coming down hard on sites like this one due to the perception of the need for better "oversight".

We recognize the cultural conflict that exists and over the past few months we've been accused of allowing content in posts/threads that supposedly violates some advertiser's policies. Those threads weren’t an issue in the past, but for some reason, they are an issue now. And we are being penalized (financially) because of it.
