Albany State baseball clinches SIAC top seed
« on: April 06, 2014, 02:11:58 PM »
ALBANY — As soon as Ryan Latner tackled Andrew Bacon just off the infield grass, Albany State pitcher John Paul Benard knew exactly where he wanted to be.

“I had to get on the bottom of the pile,” Benard said. “I had to be on the bottom.”

He made it — and eventually so did the rest of his Albany State teammates, piling on top of Latner and Bacon in celebration after sweeping a doubleheader against Benedict and clinching the East Division’s top seed in the SIAC tournament later this month.

The Rams (25-15, 17-0) remained undefeated in the conference

Wait they had a pile on for being 1st in their Division - HUH?  :snicker Biggest problem with this story is it fails to state that Stillman College has yet to lose in the SIAC and are the current SIAC Champions and winners of 6 out of the last 7.

When Albany State wins an SIAC Title in Baseball that's worth a pile on until then and until they unseat Stillman College all they have had is a good season thus far.

Stillman College will win another Championship this season - COUNT ON IT!

Glad to see Baseball still thriving at Albany State, so many black males have turned away from baseball. It is refreshing to see the young black males still enjoying the game.  Now, as for Stillman they hold the bragging rights, they are the defending SIAC Champions in Baseball. Should they retain that title, then they have bragging rights again, but as for now The Albany Herald a local Albany, GA newspaper chose to highlight Albany State University in Albany, GA. There was no need to mention Stillman.
It is What It is.....It will BE what it WILL be....
