I THINK IT IS GENERALLY WELL KNOWN BY ONNIDAN POSTERS WHERE I STAND REGARDING THE GOP AND RACE.  HAVING SAID THAT, I DO NOT BELIEVE SANTORUM'S STATEMENT REGARDING BLACKS ON WELFARE WERE SO MUCH RACIST AS THEY DISPLAYED AN IGNORANCE OF THE FACTS.  A GREAT MANY WHITES WHOM I HAVE INFORMED THAT WHITES WERE THE LARGEST SINGLE GROUP OF WELFARE RECEPIENTS, WERE VERY SURPRISED AT THIS FACT.  SANTORUM'S RESPONSE SUPPORTED THE EXPERIENCE I HAD MOSTLY ENCOUNTERED WITH WHITES.

Well where did they get that idea?

Par for the Course...

And you KNOW how many years it was before any black person other than a caddie, maid or butler was allowed into the Country Clubs and exclusive golf courses of this nation.  ::)

The GOP's Blatant Racism
Gary Younge
January 10, 2012

In the British original of The Office the main protagonist, David Brent (US reincarnation: Michael Scott), wistfully recalls a tender moment during his favorite war film, The Dam Busters, involving the hero pilot, Wing Commander Guy Gibson. “Before he goes into battle, he’s playin’ with his dog,” says Brent.

.....

Brent flinches, eager to mitigate the slur. “Yeah!… it was the ’40s,” he says, “before racism was bad.”

The problem with the illusion of a postracial society is that at almost any moment the systemic nature of racism, its legacy, methods and impulses, might have to be rediscovered and restated as though for the first time. If the problem has gone away, those who point it out or claim to experience it are, by definition, living in the past. Those who witness it in action must be imagining things. Those who practice it are either misunderstood or maligned.

How about the allegedly racist email directed to Carl Lewis - yes, that Carl Lewis - who is running as a Dem in NKJ?

The wife of a Republican NJ Assemblyman sent it and the Assemblyman RESIGNED!  Said he wasn't even going to try to defend it.

I am opposed all forms of social welfare measures as they currently exist. This includes the following: Public housing; Minimum wage laws; Farm price supports; Social Security (also known as Old Age Survivors Insurance [OASI]). None of these government run programs have achieved their so-called objectives. I will be glad to give you a good list of how each has failed. Of course, I believe their are better alternatives in the free market system to achieve a better and prosperous society without the type current social welfare measures run by the government today.

He forgot to mention that he opposes public (govt) schools, also.  He thinks that all schools should be run by corporations.
