Well the parents have invaded Charlotte AGAIN......(I guess I should have knew somethng was going to be up this summer when my momma kept reminding me she would not be working summer school and now that for whatever reason my dad is going through his super chill and laid back stages he has all of a sudden become my mom's road dawg)

Why did one of my newer clients, a start up entrepreneur, call me at 7:30 last night asking me what did he have to do since his fiscal year ended on June 30th. I was dang near speechless and had to tell him to do nothing as it's an accounting procedure and the books will close automatically with the software program that was installed.

My wife looked at me and laughed. She also predicted dude would be broke in less than 18 months as he lacks the common sense to open and close a ziploc bag.

After that one, I had to refill my glass of Pinot Blanc we were enjoying on the patio.

I have dealt with people like that my entire career.  They know how to do what they are doing, but have no clue how to run the business side, inlcluding how to include your taxes as a business operating expense along with other expenses.

There is this one guy that always sticks out to me....his parents gave him the money to open up a rim shop and when I tell you that is ALL he knew how to do, that was all.... I have never met someone that clueless in my life....just speechless....

As a result he's got about $100,000 worth of penalties assessed against him personally....

Folks, handle your business and your BUSINESS :nod:  If you're not business savvy, get somebody you TRUST to handle it for you, and at least know the BASICS so you will know the right questions to ask and won't look like a deer in headlights when you find out you don't have any more money or when the tax man cometh and you want to settle for "pennies on the dollar"
