"AT STAKE RIGHT NOW IS NOT WHO WINS THE NEXT ELECTION--at stake is whether new JOBS and industries take root in this country, or somewhere else. It's whether the hard work and industry of our people is rewarded. It's whether we sustain the leaderhip that has made American not just a place on a map , but the light of the world.
But we have never measured progress by these yardsticks alone. We measure progress by the successs of our people. By the JOBS they can find and the quaility of like those JOBS offer.
And these steps, taken by the Demo and GOP, will grow the economy and add to the more than one million private sector JOBS created last year.
If you worked hard, chances are you'd have a JOB for life, with a decent paycheck and good benefits and the occasional promotion.
So yes, the world has changed. The competition for JOBS is real.
We know what it takes to compete for the JOBS and industries of our time.
None of us can predict with certainty what the next big industry will be or where the new JOBS will come from.
SO HE DID NOT EMPHASIZE JOBS IN THE SPEECH??? COULD HAVE FOOLED ME TOO.
