All I can think is that it was something they did not want the public to know about. You only hear that term used for really old people. Ok I just looked it up and a natural cause death is basically death certificate lingo.

What is the immediate cause of death in natural death?

For example, on a death certificate where the manner of death is listed as natural, the immediate cause of death could be a tear in the heart wall that happened minutes before death, and the underlying causes could be a heart attack or heart disease that took place in the days, months and years before death.

I'm not a medical doctor but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. If I'm not mistaken, dying of natural causes means they didn't die from events like car accidents, suicide and homicide. Dying of a heart attack or even cancer is categorized as dying from natural causes.
