How Howard University Finally Made It Back to March Madness

During his first season as head basketball coach at Howard University, in 2019-2020, Kenny Blakeney tried to tune out all the noise. That task, however, proved near impossible. His team slogged through a 4-29 season. Not that 20-loss seasons were at all irregular at Howard: the men had lost 20 or more games 19 times in the previous 24 campaigns.

Still, Blakeney—a Duke graduate who won a national championship as a freshman in 1992—was hired to bring a winning pedigree to Howard.

Under the leadership of Dr Frederick, Howard had a plan to rebuild its entire University similar to NCAT under Chancellor Martin. At HU, Athletics was the piece that would take the longest but had the most upside. I’m happy to see these many changes but also the commitment made to men’s and women’s basketball. Being in the DMV, basketball has to be the flagship sport.  And I’m sure that KB is going to have more calls than ever but we must do what’s necessary to keep our talent.

What's got me pissed is the negative comments about Vice President Kamala Harris postgame support in the locker room to the players. I'm just so over these people coming for her and especially some of the black folks. It's shameful.

that's all...

Yeah it's a cesspool.  Especially when Black people join in on the disdain for her
