THIS IS WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN WHEN OFFICERS [5] KILL AN INNOCENT PERSON. NEWSFLASH: THEY SHOULDN'T BE KILLING PERCEIVED GUILTY FOLKS EITHER!!!!

Swift! Just. AND IF found innocent, they can be reinstated later.

Unfortunately, this almost NEVER happens when the officers are white. We've seen that how many times? Too many to count.

Whether you care what color the officers are or not, trust me, those in power, ie, police chief, mayor of the city CLEARLY DO CARE!!!!

What will tell the story is whether LEO heads across the country will follow her blueprint, or just continue with business as usual.

Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn J Davis was the 33rd Chief of Police of Durham, North Carolina and was in office from June 6, 2016 – June 14, 2021...

She knows what she is doing, she just needs the City of Memphis to support her recommendations on policing with 1. follow-thru, 2. dollars and 3. action NOT 1. lip service, 2. human psychology and 3. "what about-isms"...

Also too add, this is a Black female police chief who doesn't play the radio. Her actions were swift and demonstrated accountability unlike her brethern chiefs across the country. That the officers that committed this crime happened to be Black has no bearing.

That broad went on CNN and said this incident now discounts race as a problem in policing. ::)

The nerve of her.

Asked by Lemon about the fact that the officers in the case were Black, Davis says “it takes off the table that issues and problems in law enforcement is about race, and it’s not. It’s about human dignity, integrity, accountability, and the duty to protect our community.”

Nomenclature,

Thanks for highlighting the chiefs statement.  That was about as ignorant a statement that I've ever heard.  The idea that she lacks an understanding of institutional racism and how it affects how the victim class of institutional racism will treat one another as a result of the institution and its' perpetual system of damage to that victimized class and how members of that class  will perceive, treat, and handle one another, shows a fundamental lack of understanding of the issue at hand and is dangerous.  It's telling me that SHE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT SHE'S DOING.  There's a reason that black children in the 50's and 60's chose the white dolls as the prettier dolls and the good dolls and chose the black dolls as ugly and bad dolls.  This is fundamental to understand that institutional racism causes the members of that victimized class to hate and treat even one another the way that society hates and treats them.  I can't with uneducated and unlearned negroes that don't get how this works.  Wasn't she taught that after a while in slavery that white plantation owners no longer had to hire white overseers to run the plantation, because their own black slaves ran  the plantation better?  Black slaves whipped black slaves and kept blacks in line.

Black cops treat white folks with respect because they understand where white folks rank in our society.  They treat black folks with disrespect because they understand where black folks rank in our society.  Black thugs will kill a black person quicker than killing a white person because they understand that they are more likely to get away with killing a person of color due to poor investigation (because black lives don't matter) (See Jeffrey Dahmers on Netflix), and history shows us that all groups get less punishment for Black Death vs White Death (proven statistics in all 50 states and on the federal level too).  Our lack of value as blacks is so ingrained in our heads that it dictates our every move in this racist society.  The fact that we have a Negress Chief of Police that don't understand these basic concepts are troubling.

My dear brutha Conquero……………your extensive post addressed to Nomenclature, the last two sentences of which are excerpted here, was quite powerful. I have been trying to understand the absolute DEPRAVITY exhibited by the five black officers as depicted in the now released video, and its meaning simply eludes me. The RAGE with which they, literally, beat that boy to death was simply breathtaking.

There is alot going through my head tonite. I am VERY familiar with the city of Memphis, having routinely done business in the city over the last 14 years or so. I also have relatives in the city. And while I’ve never had an “encounter” with Memphis PD over this time period, what chills me to my BONES is the thought of how fraught such an encounter might have been.

I watched the sista Memphis PD’s police chief as Don Lemon was interviewing her live this morning. Like you, Nomenclature and others, I was taken aback when the police chief said that because the five black officers now fired, indicted and charged were black, it takes race off the table in this incident. I was deeply disappointed in her posture, and all Don had to ask at that point was whether she thought these NUCCAS would have treated a white person similarly. And, of course, we all know the answer is HELL NO!!

I thought after George Floyd, the “consensus” in this country was that Black Lives Matter. Sadly, we are now HORRIFICALLY reminded that, in the main, our lives even in 2023 America really DO NOT matter.

God help us all.   :(

It's a gotdamn slap in the face -- that after watching that video -- the police OF ALL PEOPLE -- are telling folks to be peaceful?

Protests aren't supposed to be peaceful especially when violence was the catalyst for the protests anyway.

ph--k this ph--king system to try to dictate how the public should respond to state MURDER against citizens.

All cops are bad.

#Memphis police chief Cerelyn Davis, under whose purview #TyreNichols was murdered, was once fired from the Atlanta Police Department for attempting to cover up a case involving the husband of another officer.

Well EB maybe you should care about the color.  It does seem that when white officers engage in bad conduct or worse they are put on paid leave until a thorough (almost 2 year investigation is done).  And even then if charges are lodged they are minuscule in comparison.  Nobody is excusing the bad behavior of these black cops, because if there was wrong doing then they should be held accountable.  But intelligent beings can't help but notice the difference in how white cops are handled after bludgeoning or killing a negro vs black cops.

One would only have to look at the protection and cover up that the white cops received in Louisiana after killing Ronald Greene.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Ronald_Greene

The Louisiana State Police tried to back the officers after knowing the officers made several false statements regarding Greene's death and was quoted as saying the incident was "awful but lawful."  They savagely beat the you know what out of Ronald Green in May of 2019 and was finally formally charged after pressure in December of 2022.  That is nearly 4 years later.  The worse part is only one officer was charged with "NEGLIGENT homicide" and the other three with malfeasance in office.

This incident in Memphis just happened on Jan 10th, 2023,  I am typing this as of Jan. 27th, 2023 and these NEGRO cops are immediately charged with MURDER.  Not a lesser negligent homicide or manslaughter.  And best believe ALL THE NEGRO cops are charged accordingly.  They are held jointly and severally liable and will all face the same fate.  And this was done Post Haste.

Again, I'm not saying if they were unjustified, they shouldn't be held accountable, but I can't help but notice how even black cops are rushed to judgement while white cops get to stay on the payroll and have a LONG AND THOROUGH investigation with every of the doubt.

Notice when news media outlets talk about "this is a monument that an officer is being charged."  Folks they mean white officers.  Black officers always get fired and charged.

Dumb black people are complaining about the lack of protests.  What is there to protest about in this case.  THIS IS THE SWIFTEST ACCOUNTABILITY I EVER SAW FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT.

OF COURSE DUMB IDIOTS THERE WILL BE NO PROTESTS IN MEMPHIS, THE COPS ARE BEING HELD TO THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF THE LAW.

GEESH!

Yes, I did see how quickly they charged those officers.  I saw what happened to Ronald Greene in the case involving the White officers, and we should pay attention to both cases.  The Black officers are getting their wake up call.

This is not the first time someone aided White surpemacy or used tactics that White surpremacists' have used on our people.  One example was the situation involving Denmark Vesey in Charleston.

Protestors blocked I-55 in Memphis.
