So everything Reed spouted about was a LIE? Was there ANY truth to his complaints? If there was NO TRUTH to his tirades, then yeah, let his arse go! But, some of yall aren't seeing the forest because of this one tree being in the way. Bruh, c'mon! What he was complaining about was not what the outrage was about. The substance of his complaint may have been valid, but remember that, 1)He showed up unannounced, 2)the school had been shut down for the holidays and everyone was just returning from the break, 3)the school WAS hit by 2 Cat 4 hurricanes in quick succession late last year, so yes it may have still been a mess. Going on a live online cuss-filled tirade is no way to introduce yourself to your potential supporters. IMO, it was a hoodrat move, if ever I saw one.

What a Wildcat alum had to say about all of it.

In you all eagerness to dump on BCU, did you forget that the Jackson administration and that 31 member board of trustees almost bankrupt BCU. In order to survive drastic cuts had to be made such that BCU had almost $2million dollars in deferred maintenance. Some things such as academics can't be cut if they will create problems for student learning, i.e. SASCOS violations.

BCU had to pay to get out of the dorm deal because it was a ground lease contract and not a mortgage. BCU had to pay to get out of the deal that Jackson made with that Canadian developer. BCU has problems raising money because of the negative social media posts made by some alumni.

Bottom line, BCU should sever ties with Reed immediately.

 

BCU people did it the right way. They conferred with legal consultants, they allowed the President and the AD to make the decision. The BOT has no involvement at all in personnel issues unless there is a violation of policy, to do otherwise would be a direct violation of SASCOS, and that would not be good.

The issue about trash, etc. is so much bullisht blown out of proportion. Just think, it hasn't been that long since the last coach left. But Ed would have us believe that everything was a trash heap. The lot he references is behind the athletic training building and was purchased at the same time as the property the training facility sits on. BCU has been trying to acquire additional land around the facility. BCU is basically land locked and has a difficulty time convincing property owners to sell.

So, unless you have all the small, but important details, your comments fall way short of being based on facts.

That is so much bullisht! I explained the situation with the lot behind the building in a previous thread. I will tell you this, Ed Reed was told what the administration plans were as to facilities, etc., and other things that would be done. He used that to make himself look like a white knight. The helmet issue is a damn lie!

That previous administration (Edison Jackson) and a 31 member BOT (at least 10 alumni on board, four of them attorneys) almost bankrupted BCU. 
During that period from 2014 to 2020, BCU had combined losses of $47.5 million dollars. In addition they had to battle COVID, being on probation, and hurricanes. 

BCU did not make a turnaround until Judge Belvin Perry became BOT Chair, reduced the BOT to 9 members, instituted sound fiscal policies, etc. Under Jackson, BCU never had a budget.

Just pull BCU form 990s, they are all in public record, along with the annual CPA Audits. 

I was shocked to see that former AD Thompson was making almost $350,000.00 a year.
