The more that comes out about this, screams to purposefully mishandling. It seems as if they wanted this leaked to press before/runoff but someone got wind of it and went looking for them, found them and self reported. Which is the correct action, keep in mind they did not have to, because they were not missing. They were not being looked for. These documents are from his VP years, two presidencies ago.

I disagree.  They knew all along he had classified documents.  They weren't even close to being properly secured.
