He talked and waved to the crowd before being carted off. People watching KNEW he was ok. Its 3 hours later and all we have is that the kid tonight is in critical condition, and the NFL tried to force them to play on.

Update from Hamlin’s Rep: Damar Hamlin’s ‘vitals are back to normal’ and he is undergoing further testing at hospital

Now, I am a Case Manager who works the ER and ICU for the hospital that I work.  The rep's statement also noted they were placing Hamlin on a breathing machine.  While this is "news", its still not great.  A breathing machine (ventillator} is not a device that support 'vitals are back to normal' as one of the vitals happen to be breathing (respirations).

My prayers continue for the player and his family.

I just want everyone to know that this happened to my sister last June when she was walking to lunch with her friends. One of her friends caught her, so she didn't hit the ground. A man from a local gym heard the screams and ran out with a defibrillator and they began the CPR process. When she arrived at the hospital, she needed to be defribbed again. She was placed into a medically induced coma for 48 hours to allow her organs to "rest". Luckily for us, my sister was successfully brought out of the coma with ALL brain function and no heart muscle damage. My message to everyone here is that it looks far worse than it actually can be. The cardiac arrest happened on a Wednesday, and my sister walked out of that hospital the next Wednesday. Hopefully, Hamlin has the same recovery. ❤💯

This can happen in baseball. I got hit in the chest with a baseball because I was not paying attention in a little league ball game. I been hit in the chest while making a tackle. I saw where a got got hit in the chest in hockey. It can happen in the other football because someone could block the ball with his chest.
