CIAA membership is expected to undergo a change as the leadership preps to add Bluefield State and clip Chowan.

Not a surprise about Chowan. They've been hinting about leaving for years, so the CIAA gave them a little push. Either you're all in or all out.

Wonder if West Virginia State will follow Bluefield State to the CIAA?

Seems like it would make sense for BOTH to be in the CIAA...right? maybe? Ion know!!!

WVSU is in the Mountain East Conference (MEC), perhaps they could be persuaded to come to the CIAA...but looking at the make up of the league it's doubtful. Almost all the schools are in West Virginia (10 of 12) so travel costs must be very low. Anybody know how this league ranks in the DII standing. Not knowing any better I think the CIAA has better basketball, and football...so BSU joining the CIAA would be a step up for them instead of trying to join the MEC.

They did it to themselves by pulling out all of their sports except football and women's tennis.  Also, they were probably going to leave anyway once some more schools in Conference Carolinas add football.

Just from a historical prospective, I am in favor of adding Bluefield St. and letting Chowan hit the bricks.
