At least it wasn't as long as it took them to induct Coach Mumford.  Like the White dude from Coach Mumford's hometown who worked for the Memphis Grizzlies said, "he (Coach Mumford) is one of the heads on Mt. Rushmore when it comes to Black College football."

………and, sir, imho, along side the head of Coach Mumford on Mt. Rushmore would be Eddie Robinson of Grambling, Jake Gaither of FAMU, John Merritt of Tenn State and several others.

I agree, but Robinson, Gaither, Merritt, and OTHERS were inducted into the Black College Hall of Fame long before Mumford was inducted, which IMO Mumford should have been inducted at or around the same time of the three you mentioned. His induction was definitely WAY overdue.

I'm not sure why the Black College Football Hall of Fame waited so long to induct Coach Mumford in 2019, when the College Football Hall of Fame had already inducted him in 2001, which is a prime example of Black folks not being able to do what is right. It took them decades to make a decision that was a clear no-brainer of one of their own. Too sad!!!

Being that the Black College Football Hall of Fame was not long established in 2009 by two Grambling alums (Doug Williams and James Harris), which could be the reason why Coach Mumford's induction into it was way too late.  IMO, Coach Mumford should have been one of the first inductees, but I guess they were too busy pushing Coach Rob's legacy while overlooking the fact that Coach Rob's legacy came after Coach Mumford's legacy in Louisiana and football in general.
