Like the proverbial saying that a young frat brother from Lynchburg, VA once told to me, "oil and water don't mix."

Like my old school granny used to say, "The trash always has a way of taking itself out."

Good deal, now JSU can get back to business as usual.

Trust me, we never stopped. We are in much better shape than we were in 2020.

I'm sure that it wasn't because of Deion that ya'll are in much better shape.

This whole thing seems petty to me. Why can't that man get a better job? That's not to say there is something wrong with JSU, but if Sanders thinks it's better for him...then wish him luck and let him move on.

All this finger pointing and who said what, did what, and when?

Sanders got what he needed from JSU to get what he really wanted...a P5 job. JSU got two SWAC championships, two Celebration bowl appearances, lots of attention, and the increased funding that goes with it. JSU as a football program and a school are better off than they were when he arrived. Anybody that thought Sanders was not trying to build his case for a role in a bigger show was fooling themselves. That doesn't mean he didn't care about JSU or the people there...but he had higher asperations, and expressed that when asked. He did what he could to make his situation better while he was at JSU while weighing his options elsewhere. That normal...he didn't do anything wrong.

I'm sure JSU will be able to attract a great football coach as a replacement. This bad break up stuff is a bad look. Folks change jobs all the time.

Deion a "sellout"...he think white people ice is better..."The White man" came and stole something good from us. Folk need to stop it.

The same can be said for Deion. No one was checking for him prior to being hired as a HC at JSU. The brand, fanbase and social media presence he inherited elevated him. It was a mutually beneficial exchange.

Just don't lie and sh*t on my alma mater on your way out. We're good over here at J-State. I'm ready to announce this next head coach and keep this train moving.

???^^^well, give us the inside scoop, homie.  Who will succeed to the mantle formerly held by Big John Merritt, WC Gordon and James Carson?  You can convey this scoop by suggesting it emanates from a "friend".  ;D

Why the claim that Deion Sanders donated half his salary to JSU is a prime lie

There’s lots of talk — and feelings — about Deion Sanders’ decision to jettison Jackson State University and take the head football coaching job at the University of Colorado.

At the center of all that talk is the question of who benefited more. In one camp, there are people who think that Sanders, a Hall of Fame NFL back and ad pitchman, glommed onto an already honored JSU football tradition that produced greats like Jackie Slater and Walter Payton to boost his chances at a prestigious and lucrative job helming a Power 5 program.

Nothing is going to change unless we demand better. I credit Prime with exposing what needed to be exposed. I was talking to one of the trainer about putting the money in the general funds. He stated that the SEC school use to do it until they got sued.

The players and coaches deserve better.  We need to run the athletic department like a business. Someone is pimping the players and the coaches by not putting the majority of the money back into the program. I am looking at the games FVSU, ASU, TU, and Morehouse play in Columbus. I believe we should get at least a half a million dollars a  piece to play the game.. Otherwise, we play a home and home.  $400,000 can be put in the Athletic budget and $100,000 can go to the general fund.  Now that is fair.

I am not made at Prime.  Someone had to open people eyes to see a different way.

Bro, the white man knew we had the person that could make ice colder.  The prime effect shined a spotlight on HBCUS. We can’t deny that. We went globe and you can pay for that type of publicity.  :tiptoe:

Deion Sanders’ ‘60 Minutes’ appearance was a Prime Time sham

"CBS’ “60 Minutes,” known for exposing scam artists, is highly unlikely to even mention it this Sunday. But it was scammed, and big-time, by Prime Time."

No, Jackson State did not steal money from the football program despite social media claim

Ever since Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders made the decision to accept the head coaching job at the University of Colorado, the reaction has been polarized, to say the least.

Some love it, seeing it as Sanders going to be a better opportunity with more money and more resources. Others hate it, viewing the move as a betrayal of HBCUs and accusing him of being disingenuous in his intentions.

However, several Jackson State players have gone on the record about how they feel about the move and the criticism that followed. The players — Isaiah Bolden, Jurriente Davis and Jason Mercier —  spoke to Complex Sports about Sanders’ decision and reaction to it.
