No winner last night. 1.5 billion. You can't win if you are not in. If you won this, what would be your dream house? Would you build or buy, country or city? How large would it be?

I would buy a large parcel of land in a nice wooded country area. I prefer an old forest that has not been logged repeatedly. I would build a modest sized house that has extensive masonry work. Don't want no vinyl siding.  The grounds would have extensive landscaping; trails, gardens, pond. I would set up an endowment for the house so it can be maintained long after I'm gone. I don't trust colored folk to keep it going.

I would also have a city apartment in a high-rise, a vacation beach place and a mountain spot.

If you won a billion dollars would you give your closest  friend(s) and/or family members a million dollars each? I would say yes, because you would never have any peace if you didn't. If will be up to them to manage it, and when it's gone, I'm gone. Sometimes playing 'what if' is fun.  ;D

No.

In fact, I wouldnt tell anybody if I did win.

I'd be generous, but nobody needs to know you have that kind of wealth. That includes significant other. If I died before her then she'd get a pleasant surprise.

My house does not have to be super elaborate but I need a pool and I want to build a fishing pond.

Depending on the State where you bought your ticket, you may not have a choice in anonymity.

Can Florida Lottery winners remain anonymous?
Not for long, sorry. But at least now you get a head start.

By Florida law, the Florida Lottery must provide records of the winner's name, city of residence, what they won, when they won it, and how much they won to anyone who asks. (Street addresses and phone numbers are kept confidential, for what that's worth.)

But, as of May 25 of this year, the names of anyone claiming prizes of $250,000 or more will be temporarily exempt from disclosure for 90 days from the date the prize is claimed, unless waived by the winner. So you have three months to get your affairs in order and hire someone to answer your phone.

A house in the country, no close neighbors, buy up the property on both sides, no one behind me.  I'd build.  4 bedrooms, ranch style.

If you won a billion dollars would you give your closest  friend(s) and/or family members a million dollars each?

Just my 3 closest family members would get a mil each.  Once it's gone, it's gone.

I'd travel, set up some scholarship endowments, and set up some college funds for my nieces and nephews.
