FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. – Lincoln University freshman quarterback Isaiah Freeman (Chester, PA/STEM Academy) has been named HBCU National Player of the Week by BOXTOROW.
Freeman marched the Lions 72 yards on eight plays in 63 seconds to set the Lions up for the game-winning field. He accounted for 57 of the 72 yards on the drive. The only other yards came on a 15-yard pass interference call.
"Isaiah Freeman (Chester, PA/STEM Academy) is a great football player, but he has the makings of a generational leader," said Lincoln University Head Football Coach Josh Dean. "He came to our program with the belief that he can help elevate our program through his play and leadership and he has done just that. Freeman continues to improve week by week and the most impressive thing about him is that he does not make the same mistake twice. Isaiah Freeman (Chester, PA/STEM Academy) embodies what we look for in a Lincoln Lion!"
For the game, he threw for 298 yards on 16-of-27 passing with three touchdowns. Freeman added 20 yards rushing and a touchdown. He was responsible for all four Lions' touchdowns and accumulated 318 yards of total offense.
Freeman will be highlighted on the nationally syndicated sports talk show BOXTOROW w/ Donal Ware which airs on radio stations across the country. A list of radio stations that carry the program can be found here www.boxtorow.com/affiliate-stations
