I was fortunate to meet Bill Russel in the old AAMU gym in the 1975-76 season when he was the head coach at Seattle. He had come to scout F/C Jackie Edwards who was 4th in the nation in rebounds. Jackie could jump out of the gym and played when dunking was illegal so he would jump over the rim and drop it in. Unfortunately, Jackie was 6'6" and could not dribble the ball that well, so Seattle did not draft him. RIP Mr. Russell.
