How do so-called patriots, support seceding?

performative bulls**t
Answer to your question: It depends on how you define “patriot”. The standard definition of “one who loves his country” is insufficient. These people advocate the love of a country that is an “idealized, white ethno-state”.

That’s what the attempted 1/6 rebellion was ALL about.

Politically, Texas has always been a problematic state, especially for Black folks. IMO, due to the slogan, "Don't Mess With Texas", which was an anti-litter ad campaign, politicians in Texas believe that they can do whatever that they see fit. All one has to do is watch the movie 'The Banker' to understand that White folks in Texas don't want to see Black folks make any type of economic gains, even if it means creating economic setbacks for themselves.

To add, even President Lyndon B. Johnson who was a Texan said it the best, “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”

- The us govt should make priority, to take all military, govt business and govt sponsored programs out of texas right away. Fund no more infrastructure type programs and do not support natural disasters relief, sense they will not be part of the USA,,, delete all senate and house of representative positions in Washington and redraw the map of the USA to exclude texas.

This is why it will not happen.  If it does happen, it will be after the biggest lunatics have taken over the state.  They like Washington's money.

However, if it does happen, there will be huge regret because of the loss of money.  Then I am reminded of the Alamo and War for Texas Independence.  I am also reminded of Gerald Horne's work.

.....

Gerald Horne was on a radio program talking about his latest book.  It covers a lot (or maybe all) of what Harriet mentions.  Dr. Horne is great at taking historical events and relating them to what is happening today.

Horne was on there for three hours yesterday (6/20) 10 AM - 1 PM (To Heal DC Special: Juneteenth: The Real Story Revealed, link).  They were also having a fundraiser for the station.

Note.  The reason that the Confederates went to war against the North is the same (or at least one) reason why the Texans went to war against Mexico in 1836 and the same (or at least one) reason why the slave holders, especially the large slave holders in the south, went to war in 1775 against London during the Revolutionary War.
