How many HBCUs DII schools have soccer???This is great for VSU....but the MEAC doesn't have soccer, or Men's/Women's lacrosse. Guess they will have to do like Howard and a couple others and have those teams play in other leagues for the sports the MEAC doesn't sponsor.Good to see VSU investing in it's programs.
I would love to see VSU and Fayetteville State make the move to the MEAC. They both have solid enrollment and athletic programs. I would venture to say that the Broncos have had the most consistent HBCU athletic program in North Carolina for the last 20 years.
Bluefield State wants in the CIAA and they have a women's soccer team. Allen also has a women's soccer team that will be independent.
Great additions by VSU,but my question is this? Why are our schools so late on adding women's soccer? That sport is a no brainer.
