Promoting CIAA Basketball 🏀 Tournament
« on: January 23, 2022, 02:32:07 PM »
Most schools in the CIAA aren’t allowing any fans to attend regular season home or away games.  Now why in the hell would you go to Baltimore for the CIAA Tournament if you can’t attend games in the regular season.  Do you take fans for Trump’s Big Lie Supporters.

Very good question.

I know I won't be attending.

I guess their thinkin' is; "The Show Must Go On!"

I'll watch on whatever TV or Internet coverage I can find and hope for all the best for the players, coaches, staff, event staff and fans that show up. Maybe "Omorion" will settle down just a tad...Who knows?

I don’t think the conference expects a pre-COVID kind of turnout but I don’t have any problem with them promoting it. You know at the end of the day, no amount of advertising is going to make any of “us” do anything we’ve already decided we ain’t gonna do. Those that want to come will come and probably have a great time.

I don't think the restrictions at the schools will hurt. People are gearing up to go up to Baltimore to have a great time

Had to fix that for you.

I love a good Aggie dig as much as any Ram but 55 your fascination is a bit much and it distracts from the post subject. Those folks are where their admin wants to be — let’s sweep our own front porch first, please.

Received a call last night from loyal school fan who irritated by the school restricting fans attendance to the games.  He stated that the school had not mentioned any refunding for the regular season season ticket holders.  Some schools allowed him entrance and some don’t.  The local ACC schools have fans and some don’t wear any kind of mask.  He mentioned that North Carolina A & T are allowing some fans in attendance.  Why do I CIAA schools are so arse backwards in this.

I don't think it is all CIAA schools.  I think WSSU and ECSU have some fans at their games.

To get into a WSSU game, a person has to show proof of testing within a 72 hour time frame. Just having gotten the vaccine is not enough. A person would have to look at our schedule then time a test just right to get in. Getting the back on time is huge.

Would the size of the venue and time of the year have any mitigating circumstances regarding the decision?

Coming into the season, the guard was named preseason All-CIAA as a backcourt selection in the conference vote of head coaches and sports information personnel.

VARIABLE STARTERS
For the eleventh time this season, Lincoln rolled out a different starting lineup as Jaleesa Lanier (Easton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic), Bryanna Brown (New York, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin), Jade Young (Philadelphia, Pa./Abington Friends School), Shantel Cheeks (Washington D.C./Rock Creek Christian Academy (Harcum College)) and Kryshell Gordy (Chester, Pa./Ursuline Academy (Del.)) started against Virginia Union.
