COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University men's basketball team led wire-to-wire in a 76-58 victory over Tuskegee University on Friday night in the 2021 Herbert Green Invitational at the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center.

Four Cougars scored in double figures paced by 18 from Christian Chambers. Anthony Moore added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Nelson Haskin finished with an 11-point, seven-rebound and six-block performance.

"We played an excellent first half that really fueled us to the win," commented head coach Robert Moore. "I loved our balanced attack tonight on offense, and how we protected the paint."

Tuskegee (2-5) was down just two, 9-7, four minutes into the game before the Cougars broke the game open. Over the next seven-plus minutes, CSU rattled off a 17-5 run to take a commanding 26-12 lead. Columbus State shot 8-for-16 and forced four turnovers during the stretch.

Columbus State (5-1) kept the pressure up, eventually taking a half-high 18-point lead, 34-16, after a Devan Porter-Wilson 3-pointer in the corner.

The lead was never in doubt in the second half. Wisdom Uboh gave the Cougars thier first 20-point lead of the night at the 9:22 mark before CSU took a game-high 24-point lead, 71-47, following a four-point play from Chambers with 4:15 left to play.

Chambers was 4-for-11 from beyond the arc, while CSU was 8-for-26 (30.8%) as a team. Overall, the Cougars shot 46.9% (30-for-64) from the floor.

Devin Booker scored 16 for the Maroon Tigers, while DeShawn Millington added 13.
