As much as I think VSU would be a welcomed addition I’ll believe it when I see it.

Are you asking if they HAVE joined before and if they are going to join again?

I am confused with the way the question is being asked (and written).

Funckmaster, can’t you read the caption.  Will they leave the CIAA to joined the MEAC or will it be Bowie State?

Obviously, you want us to join, since you’re raising this age old question and rumor, once again. How many times and how many ways do we have to say NO! The majority of our alumni see no advantage in moving

You hit the nail right on the head. I know at A&T when we look at what we call peer institutions, we include schools that have achieved goals we aspire to.

No way VSU belongs in the CIAA…it’s not about where you are but where you want to be. That’s not a knock on the CIAA it’s a great conference…but VSU out grew that league years ago. You guys should have left when NSU joined the MEAC.

???…….well known metaphor, but how does it apply to the topic at hand. Should or should not VSU join the Meac and why?

VSU does not want to move up.  You people believe that the larger HBCU schools should move up.  This is not high school sports.  Collège is totally different.  If VSU does move up the MEAC is the last conference they should be in.

Could it be that you think that "pretending to be DI" is a measure of success? And "we" are not the only people thinking that moving up is not a good idea. Every DII or DIII  school in the country think that for them to move up to a division they can't afford or compete in is something negative. Dude stop trying to pull everybody down with you. We don't have neither the size nor money to pretend. Every year in all sports you guys no that before the season starts you have no chance to win a National Championship. In basketball you will be 0-14 before you run across a team you can beat. I also believe that you think attending a DI school somehow makes you a better student or better person. Most HBCUs get the same type of student regardless of their division... for the most part.

You need to stop enslaving your own mind.  Failure leads to GREAT success.  When one becomes too comfortable, it's time to move on.  The world is constantly changing around us, we either change with it or get left behind. Black communities are prime examples of being left behind. I'm sure you have heard those words before.

A good business economics book you should read, entitled "Who Moved My Cheese."

. You are absolutely correct.  It's not about where we are, but where we want to be....and we're there! WE ARE IN THE CIAA and WE WANT TO BE IN THE CIAA! There are no advantages to spending money we don't have to move up, especially to the MEAC. You talk as if being in the MEAC is a badge of honor.  No one yet has come close to presenting a convincing argument to our Administration, Board of Visitors, students or alumni to support that argument, including MEAC officials.  You also say that we've outgrown the CIAA, yet Bowie State and Fayetteville State have larger enrollments than we do.  Why not go after them?  Should we all move?  Why is VSU the target?
