Sears is shutting its last store in Illinois, its home state
« on: September 17, 2021, 12:18:09 AM »
There are 35 Sears and 22 Kmart stores  in the US. NC's last remaining Sears store is in Greensboro. The last time I was in there, I was the only person. I have no reason to go back because  the Craftman brand is now at Lowes.

A perfect example of not changing with the times.

   WHO?  WHAT?  WHERE?

I thought those dinosaurs were slayed years ago.

So those lifetime warranties; are they worthless now?

Funny that you asked. Lowes still honor it. I always bought Craftsman because of the life time warranties, and needed to replace a hoe two weeks ago. It was painless, no questions asked. Picked out a new one, gave them my old one, no paper work.

Speaking of Craftman, buying the rights to that line was the best investment the company has ever made. Lowes has made it their signature brand and the company's profits have rebounded after years of decline.

The Sears at the Colonial Park Mall in Harrisburg is closing in November.

Not totally sold it’s singularly the Craftsman line or not. Most, if not all home improvement centers showed tremendous revenue growth & profits post pandemic.

For me, it’s also their customer service. Home Depot is slowly becoming Walmart/McDonalds and Lowe’s is more like Target/Chick Fil A.
