T.U.
« on: September 05, 2021, 10:47:24 PM »
First of all I want to congratulate fort valley you did a real good job of dominating and outdated offense and an outdated coach..... I'm afraid to say but the time has come for the Slater era to come to an end .......it seems to me he refuses to evolve with football ....I knew we were in trouble when I saw a full back still listed on our roster.... what successful football team in America still carries a fullback ????? anyway look like we're going to be going  0 for the year this year until the change is made..... I really wish we was not on ESPN to be embarrassed nationally like we did tonight.

Even after tonight's showing, I would never count Skegee out. Don't despair Golden Tigers, Slater will adjust and come back smoking. I bet Skegee will be in the hunt at the end of the season.

TU needs to accept the facts; Slater should not be AD, HC and OC; that’s very unusual for any university

I was told Tuskegee lost about 25 kids to a school in California that one of the coaches left to be the HC at. Was told TU would have a rough year because of it

What coach was it that went to California and had that type of influence on 25 kids?

I wish that was true so there would be an excuse.
But, Our old DC is now the DC at Edward Waters
The old linebacker coach is at NAIA Reinhardt as their LB coach
The QB coach is the WR coach at Central high.
The old DB coach is the DC at Shady’s Valley high school.

Truth of the matter is our OLine has been on the decline for the past few years. We haven’t come close to a thousand yard rusher  in years and we have had the talent to do so..

Norfleet the Michigan transfer
Justice Owens the Jacksonville state transfer
Hoderick Lowe
And now Toro Taylor which is an explosive kid.
We gave up 7 sacks last night if I’m not mistaken. To a Dline that isn’t that impressive. We netted 4 yards rushing…

If we look back on the first 5-5 season we lost 3 or 4 games in our inability to covert that belly 1 play for 1 yard. The most memorable is the 3 shots we had to get 1 yard on Morehouse in that 2018 game.

Also add QB coach to Slater titles…

Him as an AD was a mistake. He acknowledged the problems when taking the job now 3 years later every interview he is saying we have fell behind. See his media day interview and his interview with BCSN where he says, “ I haven’t even bothered to read up on what NIL is because it won’t matter on the D2 level.” Meanwhile VUU has a player with a Bojangles deal…  That’s not the kind of thinking we need as AD. Being that we lack in facilities we should be on the forefront of NILs to give us an edge.

It’s a long season— I have the EWC game circled. We barely pulled it out in 2019 if we lose that one going into the GCC 0-3 things will get interesting in the 46

While I congratulate FVSU for winning the game, TU was just pathetic, especially on offense. Looked totally unprepared. No halftime adjustments, change in strategy, just terrible coaching!!

While Slater has done many great things for TU Football, and for them, we are greatly appreciative of, it’s time for TU to start looking for a new AD, Head Coach, and someone who’s well versed in athletic fundraising.

Time for a total culture change in TU Athletics!!!

I can understand the comments made by many TU folks on this thread. TU is the winningest program in HBCU history. If they aren't the ones concerned about the direction their great program is going, then who should be?
