The difference between surviving and dissolution could depend on the next hire for commish. Don't be afraid to think outside the box. Best candidate may not reside in intercollegiate athletics.

IMO, it should be the other way around, where the CIAA should position ALL of its school to move up to the FCS level and become part of the MEAC and another Super DI HBCU conference divided by East and West divisions.  The advantage to that the CIAA tournament can stay intact, but as the MEAC tournament.  The disadvantage is that MEAC schools have gotten too comfortable and complacent on the DII level.  I'm sure if this happens, Tennessee State will seriously think about joining one of the two Super DI HBCU conferences.  Also, I'm sure a few in the SIAC would move up as well.

This all day long.

Actually I meant to say CIAA schools have gotten too comfortable and complacent and not MEAC schools.

It looks like Joe Sirera of the Greensboro News and Record is on a smear campaign.  He has written three negative articles on the MEAC Basketball Tournament in JULY.  Seems strange to me.

I hope this is not how A&T and the Big South do business.

What will a new commissioner do for a conference with Six schools? Schools left under a veteran commissioner am I right? Is a new commissioner going to raise money for other schools to build better facilities, become fully funded with scholarships, assist with a recruiting budget, travel and so on?

Someone answer this for me, why did we and others leave the MEAC?

At the end of the day the leadership must do what’s best for their respective institutions. To provide the best student athlete experience while balancing a budget. Over the years the cost of managing an athletics department has skyrocketed but the revenue distribution didn’t.  Pointing fingers at this point is too far gone. NCAT, HAMP, FAMU, BCU, SSU all made tough but correct choices to aid themselves.

At this point I hope that the Bison squad and put together a little run and represent the conference in the Celebration Bowl for the next two years. I know our AD can find a way to use that  boost in cash.

Because the MEAC sucks and is on the verge of collapse.  It is a moot point to look backwards.  A&T is in the BS now.  Be happy about that and move on.

It's July. It's no local sports news. HS football starts in 3 weeks. Just got to make it thru this last blank period. Same as these message boards

It's strange that the News and Record Sports Page and Editorial Board milked three articles in July on something that was reported in March.

Because they didn't believe they could move up to fbs level from the meac.
