Is Texas ready to give up that channel?

OU and OSU will be a packaged deal.

Theres absolutely zero chance of the SEC letting OK State join. They add no value. Plus, OSU’s AD is already on the record saying he’s going to fight to keep OU in the Big XII.

Simply more fiscal leverage over the Big XII purse strings.

That’s how I see it as well. OU would go from winning the Big XII every year to middle of the pack and Texas is already mediocre where they are now.

Not to mention, Texas would have to give up their personal cash cow in Longhorn Network to share one with 15 other schools? Nope. I don’t see it.

So, thinking out loud here…purely being selfish….if you are the SEC….add Texas & Oklahoma….drop Mizzou & Arkansas?

From what I've been reading and hearing, this is all but a done deal.

If this happens WOW.

Big 12 is gonna have to pick up schools and then the trickle down will begin

Not sure what’s left to pick up…or is this the first foray into having four mega conferences - SEC, Pac XII, Big 10 & ACC with conferences like the Big East, Big XII, and a host of others becoming feeders….

If they do go to a power 4 and with the 12 team playoff…I can easily see no more than one non P4 team breaking thru every once in a while….also, will this make the NCAA obsolete in football?

I would take OU and OSU.
TX comes with too much drama
SEC don't need that Texass attitude.   :nono2:

The SEC is not gonna reject a top 5 brand in higher education (acdemics/alumni/endowment/athletics) for Oklahoma State.

I hope that Texas and Oklahoma stay where they're at. I love that Texas A&M is in the conference and have their own bigger brand exposure since joining the SEC. Texas has and always will be the bully in the Big12. Texas isn't giving up that Longhorn Network and that's a sticking point because of the SEC profit sharing revenue. I'm NOT thrilled with a 16 team conference. I hope that the Council of Presidents, as tempting as it maybe to have both schools, say NO and side with A&M. We'll see if it's a done deal in two weeks as the speculations are running.

that's all...  :tiptoe:
