David Makes Man

I don't know about this change in the story. The youth, coming of age aspect is what made season 1 so endearing.  Now the series is not much different from most other stuff on TV.  I will watch a few more episodes to see where they take the story, but the season preview does not look very promising.

The 15 year time jump from season 1 to 2 took some adjustment. I just hope n the process of introducing the new story, they tie up the loose ends like what happened to his best friend Seren.

I hope so. I want to see more of the young David actor as well, frankly he made the show. Sadly aside from laying on the bottom of a pool, he was absent in the first episode. Then there is the time stamp issue for me. Was the season 1, set 15 years in the past, or is season 2 set 15 years in the future.   I'm mad  they advanced the time and changed the trajectory of the series. They dared to screw with a winning formula. We will see how it pans out.  The bright side is that it is still a very smartly done show. This is one of the most well written shows on tv.

Was there a story behind why they decided to make the change they did?

If there is I would like to hear it. It is possible the time line was already in place before season 1 went into production. I would like to see how David made it out of the projects.

M&G, just got back from reading some discussions about the show and most folk who watched, hate it. One thing that had me scratching my head was David wetting the bed as an adult. If you recall, it was little brother doing that as a child and he would hide the sheet from their mother. Why did he give his mother the sheets as a gift?  This makes no sense. Many folk did not understand the hallucinations either.  It's very simple, David has mental issues and sees/talks to dead people. it was kind of unsettling when his little brother followed him at the hospital and he tried to make him go back.

Yeah I'm confused about the bedwetting, altho I forgotten his little brother did it.

Maybe it was my poor eyesight but one of the shots of the wet sheets, seemed close to the pillow and I thought maybe he's having heavy night sweats because bedwetting didn't make sense.

I was thinking the same thing too, but then his girlfriend asked him about his underwear, and he gave the sheets to his mother, I thought he was  trying to get rid of everything he soiled.  But you are right, that wet spot was high up.
