Looking at last year's standings at the end of the regular season it looks like Cincy and Coastal Carolina would have both gotten in. Pac 12 wouldn't have had a representative.
I looked at the final Top 25 from last year. I took out the six champions and ranked them then took the next six in the AP ranking and the results is more interesting than I first thought.1. Happened last year with Oregon, and there have been a few times where one of the teams playing in the ACC championship wasn't ranked.
