It's hard to argue against this move.  It's probably the only way they can keep the doors open.  VUL pretty much did the same.

They'd do better doing away with athletics and switch to intramural sports like Spelman did.This wont end well.

Spelman did not do it for financial reasons. It is more like they thought that it was a waste of money and practically said as much. They said the money could be better spent on developing a wellness program for all of their students.
