No PhD, no prior administrative experience, was not considered by the school's search committee, and was added to list at the last minute.  Definitely sounds like a political selection to me.

He does not have college teaching experience either. I could accept it  if this  was a private college and they were hiring a fundraiser, which is what High Point University did.

Part of this is our fault as alumns.  I'm  too embarressed  to state our low number of members in the National Alumni Assocation but it's the lowest of the five HBCU's in the UNC system.  The system and other entities that allocate money and resources look at that kind of information when making decisions.  If the alumni don't care enough to join the National Alumni Assocatition at $50 a year then they don't really care about the status of the university therefore they'll take what we give them.  Now there are over 2k signatures on the petition to remove him. More than half not in the National Alumni Assocation.!
