How much of an increase will you see in ticket prices for football game next year?  I know these schools will need the money but I wonder what is the breaking point.  Could you see a 20% increase?

I don't think there will be a difference in pricing than what is already in place. We were already getting all that we could and charging more would only hurt attendance. Remember, the fans are just as broke as the schools. Schools will have to offer less sports and reduce cost in other ways. Some may have to drop down or drop all sports.

Regular games. Homecoming and classic will see a slight bump in pricing. Folks are hungry for HBCU football and will sacrifice a bottle or 2 of Remy Martin to pay increased ticket prices.

With y'all moving to the SWAC I can see there being a high demand for tickets, so that $40 - $50 might work for regualr games.  However, I don't think there are that many HBCUs that will be able to get away with charging those prices for general admission non homecoming/classic games.

Fans are just as broke as the schools. They need to seriously take a look at this, and keep the prices reasonable.

I agree with what everybody saying but the athletic department will be trying hard to get some of the money back.  I could see a bump in the athletic fees for students next year.  I hope not since my kid in college.

Actually, raising ticket prices is not a bad idea, but within some reasonable means.  SU had increased its ticket prices years ago.  Although we experience a slight decline in attendance, we did experience an increase in ticket revenue.  I think we need to use our brain power to do the economic analysis to determine the reasonable rates to charge for tickets and still make a profit.  Also, we should establish a pricing variation for high demand games versus low demand games. Game attendance means nothing if the university is not making a profit.
