BOONE, N.C. — An Appalachian State University student, who was described as a talented high school basketball player, has died from complications with the coronavirus, school officials have confirmed.

Chad Dorrill, a sophomore exercise science major, died Monday night at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, according to the Watauga Democrat. He was 19 years old.
