I guess they never cared to GOOGLE the school they were going to play for? I knew about that place for YEARS and was not an athletes. To be honest any Black person attending a white Christian university needs their heads examined. Baylor, Oral Roberts, SMU, TCU, Bob Jones  and Liberty all represent the same thing to me. :tiptoe:

Agreed with everyone here.  Liberty is the worst, and I seriously question any black or Latinx student who goes there.

I’m glad they’ve seen the light, well somewhat.   I think the young lady is still a bit blinded.

B4L, I totally agree with you. Liberty is the worse of the worse of Christian universities. I get the getting your own perspective about a school, but there are some schools that are blatant on where they stand. If an african american student chooses to still attend and find out later, then I have zero sympathy for their demise.

that's all...

jerry falwell Jr has shown the blacks at the university who he is, those who stay, either refuse to see him for what he is or enjoy being under mass falawell.   :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe:

I think they refuse to see. Many just look at that online program as a way to reach their individual goals.

Selfish living ...

Many of our young people are blinded by the bright lights they have to offer. Its later in life when the lights go out that they see the real light.

Many "elte" Black athletes attend majority white Christian academies or Catholic prep schools that are not diverse but they are blinded by the fame and "free stuff". Many seem to  have parents who either don't know or care. Either single parent from poor background or "saved" Christian parents in multicultural denomination who thinks all Black anything is bad.

This ain't 1982 when I had to call schools for  for catalogs and go to the library to research their backgrounds. Everything is a click or swipe away. Many Black athletes at PWI's are removed from the average Black students reality somewhat anyway. How many regular Black people have you met graduated from Kentucky, Nebraska,Gonzaga, Oregon etc?

Let's get real. The Black community pushes these kids to play major Division I sports.

The amount of community education around HBCUs that has to take place is enormous.

Back in the 1990s A&T played at Liberty in football.  Liberty told A&T they could not bring their band because Liberty did not allow "that type of music" on their campus.  The coach at Liberty said they would win the game because A&T had a bunch of thugs on their team.  Bill Hayes was POed.  It was reported that every time A&T scored the aggie nation started chanting "WOOP THERE IT IS!!"  A large aggie contention went to Lynchburg that day.

After being let go by the Browns, Sam Rutigliano would serve as an analyst for NBC Sports and ESPN for three years. In 1988, he was given the head coaching job at Liberty University, a post he would hold for eleven years until retiring in 1999.

We beat Liberty in 92 and 93.

Both close games were close. In 92 in Greensboro - 35 to 32 A&T and in Lynchburg in 93  38-30. We were looking to going back up there this year. We are STILL PISSED about those comments
