Do you think the siac and ciaa pulled the plug too soon?

As much as I would love to see football, I am skeptical about seding our boys out there as sacrificial lambs.  Their health is much more important.  What do you think?

Nope. They did the right thing. D2 teams don’t have the budgets to properly test and with cases on the rise it doesn’t make sense to put the players out there. It’s the best move for all schools involved. Even if the SIAC had chosen to play I was hoping that we wouldn’t go forward with playing in the fall.

If any college football is played in the fall I think it’ll only be the FBS level and I doubt if all FBS schools will participate.

The only sports that somewhat safely could should be played at this stage played are:

Pro Tennis: With little to no crowds
Pro Golf: Same
NASCAR

Everything else should be shut down, and possibly try to open by April 2021 (Major League baseball season) at the EARLIEST. Ideally, there will be no college sports until Aug./Sept. of 2021. Give us time to get solid vaccines and time for them to take effect.

Of course sports talk radio, TV folks, owners etc. are having baby cows about the shutdowns, but you know what? Desperate times call for desperate measures.

It was the right move relative to the safety of all functionary persons making game day events possible.  Exposure of fans with possible compromised immune systems from sidelines, on the field, coaches, referees, concessionaires and custodial staff  unable to remain safely distanced IMHO was too dangerous. Covid is much worst than some are willing to admit.
Happy it was done.  As to timing - it matters not.  Democratically done the correct way through the counsel of Chancellors/ President and AD's collectively deciding on this outcome.  As for the SWAC or BigSouth it's their decision in their lane.    :tiptoe:
