That should have been obvious. Four championships in the 1920's. None again until 1979 and the upper level lower level split. As I said in a previous post, Dr. Mays kept us open when he had been advised to close the school for World War II. After then, everyone including my uncle who later became a vice president of the alumni association and all of the ex jocks greatly admired him. Dr. Mays nickname was not "Buck Benny" for nothing. He thought that you should participate in athletics for fun. There was absolutely no money spent on athletic scholarships.
Albany State won the SIAC Championship in 2010, not Tuskegee. However, Tuskegee's SIAC championships should be 31, not 30.
What is there not to understand? As I said previously, Tuskegee won 11 of the next seventeen SIAC championships between our last championship in 1923 and 1940. Even in our one lost year in 1930, we lost to Tuskegee. Obviously, there were six years in which Tuskegee did not win the championship, but it was not Morehouse.
I would like to know how did this become a question of Morehouse being the best team in the conference? Who said that? Whoever said it did not attend Morehouse?
I know what I wrote. And it was nothing that you stated. I am finished with this.
Just wanted you to know that was eight for Morehouse. That is why many Morehouse Men from my uncle's day did not like President Mays. After he came, our time as a football powerhouse were over.^^^You said the part in red right. Then next post you attributed it to graduates from your Uncle's time. I guess you lied misspoke Quote from: ncsiacfan on May 16, 2020, 09:25:37 AMWhat I said was many Morehouse graduates from my uncle's time did not like Dr, Mays because that was the end of our days as a football powerhouse. My uncle was an all conference center. There is a stature of President Mays in the center of the campus. All Morehouse Men are aware of his contributions. Then you changed from powerhouse to competitive.

We are sixth on the all time list and we have not won a championship since we tied with Fisk in 1923. Tuskegee won 11 of the next 17 championships and were the dominant football team in the conference at that time. But Morehouse was still competitive and that is why the old Columbus Classic now the Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic was such a big game. Is there a question about what I said?I should add that I also had a uncle who was a star on the 1941 Morris Brown team that won the "Mythical Negro National Championship".
