If capitalism is so great, why does it need to be bailed out by socialism every ten years?

A few years back, I read an article in which company execs talked about the portion sizes. Basically it was only a few cents more to have larger portions. The thought was that it kept customers returning to the establishment and it was worth it to their bottom line.

you need grocery stores, you don't need cheesecake factory. In other words, customers will continue to show for one but not necessarily for the other.

Grocery stores have thin profit margin unlike other businesses. There are many reasons like there is a lot of competition in the market and hence the retailers have to keep the margins low to attract the buyers.

With thin margins, wouldn't those 'cents' add up?

My side note, they can KEEP their cheesecake. It looks good, but it ain't NY cheesecake which is firm, not soft.

???^^^uhhhh, if this thread is going to now morph into a conversation about the quality of cheesecake, then I gotta go with my man, M&G^^^. I like my cheesecake “firm” with just a tad of strawberry topping.

Sorry, but “soft” cheesecake is garbage. 👎

Restaurants are more about real estate than food. Learned that from reading the creators of McDonalds biography .

With all the divisive rhetoric on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, websites such as ours, especially message boards, are under the watchful eye of the Internet giants. And those giants are coming down hard on sites like this one due to the perception of the need for better "oversight".

We recognize the cultural conflict that exists and over the past few months we've been accused of allowing content in posts/threads that supposedly violates some advertiser's policies. Those threads weren’t an issue in the past, but for some reason, they are an issue now. And we are being penalized (financially) because of it.

As a result we are coming to you directly for your financial support>
