I just hope the CIAA don't mess up the party. Right now this tournament is about both basketball and partying. They feed of each other. Some are arguing that not enough people attend the games. But what other small school conference draws 8,000-10,000 inside and a Mardi Gras outside? They better move it back to Charlotte... and fast. Lol

not nearly to the extent that ciaa tournament go'ers are use to.  most ciaa folk know their way around charlotte, but don't know their way around baltimore.  baltimore is not the kind of city to go "wandering" around at night if you don't know where you're going.

I agree with most of this. That’s why I was so against moving the tournament to a “boring” city. Eliminating all the parties won’t make the tournament successful because the people who came to party only care about partying. It’s unfortunate that less people are interested in attending the games nowadays but I’d rather the conference make money from the parties than not make money at all because the tournament has lost its appeal because it’s in a city that fans don’t care about.

It was just a question. But Rock Hill is in arm reach of Charlotte and plus it's something to do in Charlotte than in Rock Hill. Rock Hill is cool and quiet city.

I think what they have now works well for them. Small but very nice/modern venue in a relatively quiet city close to a bigger city. The conference has tried multiple times to generate more interest in the tournament and nothing has worked. The tournament is what it is at this point. Unfortunately, the SIAC will never have the name recognition or public appeal of the CIAA. I think moving the tournament to Charlotte would just shine a glaring light on that fact as people would naturally make comparisons.

ain't no argument.  look, i'm speaking from personal "experience".  sometimes a "gps" will take you thru the wrong neighborhoods at night.  hail, and i ain't even gone lie.  baltimore has some neighborhoods that you don't even wanna drive thru in "broad daylight", much less at night.  now folk may get mad at me for saying that, but its the "truth".

most major cities on the east coast especially from dc and all major cities north of dc have neighborhoods that you don't wanna drive thru at night and baltimore certainly ain't no exception.  i'm just saying if you don't know your way around a city like baltimore, sometimes you might not wanna place all your trust in a "gps". 

i've had a bad experience following my "gps" at night in baltimore.  took me thru a high crime area where there were blue lights and video cameras on top of telephone poles and very shady folk walking around at night.  had no idea where da hail i was and got the hail outta dodge as fast as i friggin' could!  had a somewhat similar experience last summer in philly too.

trust me, there are certain neighborhoods in major cities that would be in your best interest to stay out of at night.  but hey, do your thang bruh.  can't say a brutha didn't warn you...
