2020 FCS RECRUITING: HBCU Team And Individual Rankings
Published on February 09, 2020 at 3:32 PM EST
Updated on February 09, 2020 at 3:33 PM  @BrianMacWriter

Between now and Monday, Feb. 10 -- when we'll reveal our overall FCS team (Top 50) and individual recruiting rankings (Top 300) -- we're going to begin to release some of our thoughts about each class here, conference by conference and position by position. Today we release our feelings about the HBCU ranks --and where things stand for those schools.
Also ... remember, this is a ranking of HIGH SCHOOL commitments ... this is only one way our FCS rankings differentiate us from 247Sports and Rivals etc. Also ... we don't pay any attention to the star rating, this ranking is based solely on how each athlete is coveted, who wanted him ... and how many wanted him. That's it. Film evaluation is something I will leave up to the coaches, as they have their jobs on the line with that. I figure if their jobs are on the line, they're probably doing a pretty good job of figuring out who they want to offer a spot on their teams. And they are certainly better than I am at making that determination.

Quick rankings explanation:
Only high school recruits are taken into account. Transfers are separate and will be evaluated much later this spring.
The system is based on school offers, NOT 247Sports or Rivals. Every level of D-1 (P5, G5, FCS) has a particular tiered point total.
When it comes to team rankings, it's the value of all of its Dec. signees and current commitments' point totals combined. Every kid counts.
I respect PWOs -- preferred walk-ons. They get credit too. The FCS is the perfect level for walk-ons. They matter to these schools.
The final national rankings for Top 50 teams and Top 300 individuals will publish Monday, Feb. 10

Robert Prunty’s third signing class at Hampton University is his biggest, both in numbers and sheer size. He has maybe the program’s most physically imposing recruit ever as proof of the latter.

Tyler McDuffie, an offensive lineman listed at 6-foot-9 and 360 pounds, is one of 13 players who signed with the Pirates Wednesday. Combined with the nine who signed during December’s early period, Hampton has a 22-member class.

Prunty’s February haul includes six defensive backs, each at least 6-1 and 180 pounds. Three are FBS transfers — Stanley Garner from Kentucky, Byron Perkins from Purdue and Jaren Rainey from East Carolina.

Professor!

Who dis boy?

Davis    Tazhaun    Smith HS    6'4    210    LB    Greensboro, NC

Good kid. 6'4 215ish. Played DE and WR for us. Great motor , was doubled coming off the end all year. 8 sacks , 3 Ints, 6 Hurries, 23 solo tackles , 36 total. He just needs some weight and he is going to be an issue

With all the divisive rhetoric on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, websites such as ours, especially message boards, are under the watchful eye of the Internet giants. And those giants are coming down hard on sites like this one due to the perception of the need for better "oversight".

We recognize the cultural conflict that exists and over the past few months we've been accused of allowing content in posts/threads that supposedly violates some advertiser's policies. Those threads weren’t an issue in the past, but for some reason, they are an issue now. And we are being penalized (financially) because of it.
