DeckS^^^the ONLY thing wrong with the boasting you described is that any claims to MEAC or HBCU 2019 championships is SUBSTANTIALLY marred by losing to your arch rival in the very last game of the regular season for the NINTH STRAIGHT TIME!!

I received a report that the loss was so devastating it pretty much left the Rattler head coach in tears. My homeboy who was actually in the stadium was so distraught that he never responded to a halftime text I sent him until ten days later. It was inexplicable to your humble poster who watched the game on tv how our boys could have been so flat playing that game.

Anyway, the Rattlers may ultimately be declared HBCU 2019 champs by entities who care about that type of thing. But losing to Cookman in that manner after ripping off NINE CONSECUTIVE VICTORIES left a bitter taste in the mouths of many of the faithful.

........uhhhhh, not sure if it’s accurate to say the university paid for a full page ad declaring the Rattlers the HBCU champs for 2019. I do observe that the image in the lead post^^^is noted as “stadium edition”. Don’t know if this was something published and disseminated BEFORE the Florida Classic or what.

So your humble poster is going to “hold my fire” for now until there is some clarity on this matter and/or we hear from my good brutha, soflo, whichever comes first.

But, if necessary, a brutha is poised and prepared to let loose with a FUSILLADE of written rebuttal/defense, similar to that which was unleashed on the Aggies after that throw down in Bragg on a Sunday this past October. Any mofo clowning on the Orange and Green had damn well better be prepared for a FULL THROATED response.

I don’t anticipate invoking the name of the Meac football program situated on Georgia Ave in the District of Columbia. That program has, unfortunately, since Cam’s lil brother parted ways, reverted back to the SPECTACULAR mediocrity that it has SINGULARLY held over the past 20 years or so.

I'm not sure the ad is from the school. Coach said they are not claiming to be MEAC Champs but they are celebrating being the best team in the MEAC and black college football. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Agree.  FAM did the damn thing this year and should celebrate having a successful season.  I don't even want to think about what they will look like next year.  The FAM players and coaches deserve to celebrate their overall record despite not being eligible for a championship or the post season.  However, being compliant is part of being a Champion.

What most people fail to realize is that Willie Simmons holds a degree in Marketing. He pushes and promote his product. He sells his athletes and stakeholders on his program. Those newspaper headlines were done inhouse. Yes, he does have something to celebrate. He's turned around a fledgling program inside of 2 years and restored a sense of pride in these student that they have witnessed since many were in middle school. Too, he's laying the groundwork for the upcoming 2020 season in building the season ticket and donor base. I ain' mad about what he's doing. I think that it's a smart move when your building your business to be successful. That's my $0.02...

Other than participating in the CB why can't they be champs?  They beat everyone that's currently claiming it.    They are banned from post season play but was the best team in the regular season so since y'all don't play a championship game they should be considered no less than a co-champion IMHO!

I ain't mad at him either. If the situation were reversed I'd want A&T to do the same. Plus he's helping build hype for next years game. Marketing genius indeed because he's got all the attention on his program.
