Morehouse wins season opener, Brewer gets 300th win

The Morehouse Maroon Tigers men’s basketball team opened their season with a historic victory over Fisk University, winning 73-61 at Forbes Arena. Head coach Grady Brewer earned the 300th win of his career at his alma mater. Brewer began as an assistant coach for 13 seasons under legendary head coach Arthur McAfee. Currently, Brewer is in his 13th year as head coach. Brewer now has record of 300-227 in entire 20-year tenure with the program. His resume includes seven 20-win seasons, seven SIAC regular season titles, back to back SIAC Coach of the Year honors, and two appearances in the NCAA tournament.

Coach Brewer’s 300th win didn’t come easy. The Maroon Tigers trailed by as much as 9 points in the first half. The team gave up 12 points from turnovers alone. Morehouse also struggled mightily from the field, shooting only 33% in the first half. They also had little success from the 3-point line, shooting 16% from downtown.

With all the divisive rhetoric on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, websites such as ours, especially message boards, are under the watchful eye of the Internet giants. And those giants are coming down hard on sites like this one due to the perception of the need for better "oversight".

We recognize the cultural conflict that exists and over the past few months we've been accused of allowing content in posts/threads that supposedly violates some advertiser's policies. Those threads weren’t an issue in the past, but for some reason, they are an issue now. And we are being penalized (financially) because of it.

As a result we are coming to you directly for your financial support>
