« on: October 22, 2019, 12:35:29 PM »
Jordan Wiggins, 18, played at Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida, before he enrolled at Georgia Southern to major in electrical engineering, according to the university’s football roster. No information on his cause of death was released.

“The Georgia Southern Athletics Department has received a report of the death of student-athlete Jordan Wiggins,” the university said in a tweet. “Our thoughts are with the student’s family, friends and classmates. We will provide further information when it becomes available.”

:(............for many, perhaps most of us, life is only beginning at 18. You’re then a legal adult in this country.

How heartbreaking this must be for this boy’s family.

Sad.  Suicide, according to my brother, a professor over there.  He lost his mother in 2017.  One of his high school coaches took him in.

Guys......if, as TigerFan suggests^^^, this boy’s death was by “suicide,” that ain’t NOTHING to play with. I’ve read reports that a good number of Millenials, and the generation that follows which would include this kid, are dealing with mental health issues.

Don’t wanna preach, but in the last ten years or so, have had two close family members to temporarily suspend their undergraduate years to deal with a mental health issue.

If you peeps have ANY kind of connection to a family member, friend, etc., of a current college student, PLEASE check in with them to see if the person is ok.

I really MEAN this guys.   :'(

Wiggins’ mother, Althea Jones, died in 2017, and he spent his senior year of high school living with the mother of his football coach, Brandon McCray, the Democrat reported.

He probably never got over the death of his mother.

Plus, he and his siblings were separated.  His coach and mother took him in.  My brother says he was an engineering student and smart.  So sad.

We recognize the cultural conflict that exists and over the past few months we've been accused of allowing content in posts/threads that supposedly violates some advertiser's policies.
